Tack Free Top Coat Hacks
A Top Coat has many key roles, some of them are obvious and you have most likely covered these during your Nail Tech courses but many are quite unique to the Gellifique® brand.
Our three Top Coat options have some things in common and a main difference in texture and thickness. Here is what all 3 have in common:
- Enhanced UV protection to stop colour discoloration and fading caused by sunlight
- Heat free cure
- No yellowing
- Long - lasting gloss
- Protection against scratches and chips

For DAZZLING GLOSS - cure your top coat for 30 sec. longer than the specified time. Then let it cool down before applying cuticle oil. After cuticle oil application soak a lint free wipe with a cleanser and firmly wipe off the oil from the nail surface. Now go WOW! Super glossy right?!

When working with PIGMENTS. Cure the product for 30 sec. then immediately apply pigment. Re-apply the top coat and cure again for further 60 sec.
Now, lets dive into the main differences between all three top coats:
- It has the thinnest consistency of the 3 options
- Super glossy
- Some customers prefer it for strengthening properties
- Medium consistency - much loved by our customers who prefer slightly thicker consistency and believe the product to "run less" than the Armour Top
- It has a slight blue tint to guarantee 100% non yellowing finish
- The thickest in consistency of all 3 products. Closest to the Rubber Top Coat that is no longer available.
- Super gentle , low acidity formula making it suitable for allergy sufferers (always check the ingredient list for specific intolerances)
To summarize you can't go wrong with either of them. We would recommend choosing one of the Microcrystal options as the main "go - to" based on your preference of texture and the Diamond Top as the option for sensitive customer groups.
