Closer Look at our base coats
A great UV/LED gel base coat is the most crucial part of your nail service following nail prep. A golden rule to remember is that you should always use a dehydrator on oily nails and a primer under all sculpting products before you go in with your base layer. For a gel polish manicure, a primer can be skipped unless these nails are problematic.
Normal Natural Nails
Here, your choice will be determined by the length of the free edge. For short nails that are strong and have a pronounced C curve opt for a thin and elastic classic base coat like Microcrystal Base Coat to avoid nails looking bulky. This is also an ideal base under all sculpting gel nail products.
Meanwhile, strong natural nails which are medium or long will need a base coat with thicker texture like a Rubber Base Coat.

Damaged Natural Nails
These are not just thin nails from nature but thin nails that have undergone mechanical damage (incorrectly removed enhancements or overfilled nails). Here, you will need to first apply a layer of thin, soft elastic base in a rubbing-in motion and then overlay it with a product for structured gel manicures such as Apex Build or Smart Base. If the nails are medium or long, then opt for hard gel.

Thin Natural Nails
Thin natural nails without mechanical damage (overfilling and similar) and a short to medium free edge would greatly benefit from Fibre Base Coat.
